We spent last weekend camping together at Mt. Charleston. I took the boys all by myself. I don't know if that's what you would call brave or..................dumb?! Whatever the case we had a great time and had so much fun together. But I'm not gonna lie, it was a ton of work! Have you ever put up a shade tent by yourself? Wait I had the help of a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old.....yep it was pretty much me doing it by myself!! :) The campers next to us came over when I was packing up the car to leave and they told me how they saw my boys helping so much and what great workers they are. I had to laugh... I said of course they help! I'm mean! And they're the only one's here to help! I kept making them hold poles or hammer stakes. Give a boy a hammer and they are in heaven. It's funny though because I felt like I spent all of Saturday setting everything up and then all of Sunday taking it down!!!
We played catch, did puzzles, played games, cooked on the fire, roasted marshmallows, and drank hot chocolate. I think Wyatt lived off of Cheetos all weekend. No foil dinner for him!
Connor took us on two hikes and he loved it. While hiking, we met another family and there was a single mom with two kids... I think she was LDS and it was fun to talk to her. The people we camped next to gave me their number so we could all go camping together again. :) I love how lucky I am to alway bump into cool people. I love that and I don't think it's an accident.
To my mom: Sorry for giving you a heart attack by going camping alone. We are home safe and had a great time! No worries!
We were bursting at the seams and we used everything we brought. Can't believe it takes so much stuff to go camping!
I love how I wanted the shade to be over the table, but by the time I was done, it was like half over the table and sagging on one side!!!! I'm only one person people! Whatever works.
My camera battery died and I think it's because Connor took so many pictures of "scenery" and of himself. I had 10 pics of his head like the one above!!! ha ha!

Can you say "Super Mom"!! Brooke you are the best to those boys! How lucky are they to have such an awesome Mom!! And next time call me! I could have used a weekend away! And then your mom wouldnt have to worry about you going alone. I love the self pic of Connor!
How fun! I am very impressed. I can honestly say that I don't think I would have done that all by myself. It's hard enough going camping with kids when you have another set of hands. But by yourself?? You are superwoman! That is something those boys will talk about for a long time!!
You are seriously the cutest person EVER! How sweet to take your boys on that trip, I hope they know how freakin awesome their mama is! BTW, how is emily doin?? She hasnt posted a blog in like...a month! XOXO

K- I am laughing sooo hard right now because I'll bet you did give Ruth a heart attack! I can honestly say that i am not as brave dude. Nope, I'd be like "boys, we are going camping at Mt.Charleston...Hurry up, because check-in at the lodge is in 45 minutes" or something to that effect. Doing what you did on your own---Ninja please. I hope you at least had a gun with you, right?

Jess, you are crackin me up cause you know Ruthie!!!! I think Bonnie was in on the worrying too! Come on there was only one incident with drunk people partying next to our camp site!!! ha ha!
And you guys...please!! I am SO not the greatest mom! There was plenty of yelling and screaming from me because I would get so frustrated at kids not listening to me or because I was sick of them fighting!!!!
You so Rock! I won't go camping cause it's too much work for me and I wouldn't have to do a 1/4 of what you did! Your boys are lucky to have you!

I can not believe you did that all by yourself! You are stinkin brave. I think that would have been too much work for me! Ha ha! I think your boys probably loved it so much and will always remember it! How fun!
