I found these on my camera

and noticed I hadn't put them on my blog. I thought we hadn't really done anything interesting lately and that's why I haven't blogged. Well look at that, sometimes just regular life is interesting. To me at least.

Mandy, who is a dental hygienist, told me to bring sunglasses for Connor so the light shining on his face wouldn't bother him. The price of a cavity bothers me. How about that!I just thought that looked funny and it made me laugh. I had to wash all of my kitchen stuff after I got it out of storage.

I love Wyatt's squishy face. When I got him up that morning, it was obvious Connor threw another blanket into the crib for him. He was all sweaty, but he looked so comfy!

Eric Hardy helping my dad put shelves up on my wall. Russell helped too, but wouldn't get in the picture. I really didn't notice at the time that Eric's belt was undone. Maybe that's just how he rolls. Thanks for helping!

Alright, back in business

My computer is up and running. The cox cable guy was more than helpful, believe me.

I have a few random thoughts I have to get out. I was wanting to do it today while I was at work...but you know...it's work. So I had to just think my little thoughts in my head and I couldn't type it out. Ahh, the release of getting thoughts out in the open....

I had a day today, where everything was right in the world. Nothing special happened, believe me! Things just felt good and my heart felt happy.

Some days...weeks...I feel so incredibly dark and I can't put my finger on it and I just feel like nothing is right. When I'm not in those moments, like right now, I can't possibly understand why I feel that way sometimes. I'm just writing this down, so that when I feel down, I can look at this and remember how happy I am at times too. I have a lot of good things going on and so many blessings to be grateful for. I need to focus on those more when I have that black cloud hanging around me pulling me down.

I am grateful for:

  • my beautiful boys that are healthy and strong...and smart and funny and amazing
  • my supportive family - mom, dad, sister and bro-in-law - who go the extra mile to help me with the boys, help with my move, and help me do anything and everything, whenever I need it
  • super duper cool in-laws who have been so wonderful to us and let us live with them for so long. Helped us get our feet on the ground and that helped us into a home.
  • super-duper cool sister-in laws who treat me like a real sister.
  • a job close by where I can work with cool people like my stake president and they let me know I am appreciated.
  • a chance to learn, grow, and better myself
  • a beautiful day, with new opportunities...educational, vocational, life lessons, realizations, friendships, special moments, and a blue sky
  • a place to live!!! a place to call our own and a place that is our HOME
  • friends......friends that listen, friends that paint my house, friends that laugh with me, cry with me, shop with me, go to movies & dinner with me, encourage me, strengthen me, lift me, help watch my kids, make me laugh, help me move & carry heavy boxes, put furniture together, give me your time, and help make my life better because you are in it. (and family: hello! you are friends too!)
  • a knowledge of the gospel principles, to know the happiness it brings when lived
  • Heavenly Father's love, to feel it, to know He is mindful of me...

You know, just a side note to myself...when I was down, I was talking to my bishop about it and he suggested I do few things... pray in the morning and at night with my boys, kneeling down, read my scriptures everyday and have family night. We don't always succeed at the kneeling part, but we have done fairly well at everything else. : ) (that's hard ok!) But I have noticed such a difference. It is nice to say at the beginning of the day all of the things you are thankful for and want to accomplish during the day and ask for His help. And it's just as good to evaluate at the end of the day, all the things you could have done better and pray for that help and notice all of the blessings throughout the day and be grateful for them. Those suggestions have really helped bring the spirit back into my life...notice I didn't say make things easier! There are always challenges, and long days, and kids that throw fits. But it's so much more do-able when I have a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father and stay closer to the spirit.

Done preaching, I promise. It was for myself. I need to come back and read this when I have my pity party moments, which happen frequently.

I'm with Candace...I don't blog when I am B-or-B. Which is busy or bummed. I'm glad you shared with us Candace. We all feel that way sometimes, but don't share it. It's nice to be real sometimes.

During opening exercises for Relief Society & YW, Shirley Seastrand came and motioned for me to come out. I immediately thought Wyatt needed to be changed and grabbed my keys to get a diaper out of the car. Not so.
Since it was Connor's last week in this ward because we are moving, he asked if he could say a few words in Sharing Time. Yep, you are reading correctly. Is that too much or what? So Shirley thought I might want to hear what he had to say when he got up there.
So Connor heads up to the microphone with his scriptures, opens them to the few pictures in the back and says, "Jesus came out of the sky. Then he said bring me your little children." (The are lots of pauses and "umms" in between. ) And then he said, "Samuel the Lamanite was on a wall and prayed that God would help him not get hurt by swords and arrows." Sis. Magdaluyo was so funny up there beside him trying to handle the situation. She said, "Ok, it's time to sit down now." (after lots more pauses & "ummms" by Connor) and some of the older kids said, "no, let him stay up there!"
It was the one of the cutest things I have ever seen. I am so proud of him for being so brave and for remembering the things he has been taught from the scriptures about Jesus blessing the little children when he came and visited the Nephites. His memory is crazy.

Wyatt wanted me to take a picture of him too. Rock on Wyatt!

Tim & Faith

I was lucky and ended up getting to go to the Tim & Faith concert with my sister-in-law Amber, her friend Jen (my friend too!) and some of Jen's friends & family. So much fun and good music. I guess we were groovin' a little too much and the people next to us moved down a few seats. Connor wanted to know if the other people at the concert knew that we had little kids at home. He was ticked he didn't get to go. Thanks for watching them Emily!

This lady poofed up her bangs a little more that night for the special occasion. Too bad I couldn't get a side shot.

Why

is Connor so dang funny. The other night he said another cuss word. I don't even know if he knew what he was saying. He got it from Goonies...great. Another movie we have to be careful about. He knocked over a waterbottle in the car and he said, "OH, SHITS!" I was so surprised. I didn't know whether to laugh or not!

Today he was trying to put Wyatt down for a nap. He said he had a list of 4 things that Wyatt needed to go to sleep.

1. a warm blanket

2. the fan on

3. a book

4. a sippy cup with water before the nap

Man, he can put me to sleep anythime.

Friday night I checked on Wyatt in his crib and I saw Connor had laid out his clothes for the next day. He is too much. It's only like a bazillion degrees outside and he wants to wear a jacket. .....and shades. Can't forget the sunglasses he laid out.

50 Pictures of a Garage

I wanted to paint the garage before I moved all of our stuff into it.....my poor dad said he would help me. It took a lot of steps and we were sweating like crazy! One day to pressure wash it (thanks Jason!), another to acid wash it, another to put primer on it and finally....paint! it looks so much better. I love it. Now does someone want to come paint the walls...............I think that can wait! Til forever!

Welcome

to the new pad. Nothing super fancy, but I think it will be just right for us. We're pretty excited! My OWN place..................woooo-hooooooo!!!!

Finally

Posting some pics

The California trip with the ladies was so much fun. I like how we didn't have to hurry anywhere and it wasn't a stressful trip. I even got my first pedicure. Yep, I'm big time now.

I would have to say the highlights of the trip were:

  • Boogie Boarding! even though the lifeguard came out and talked to me like I was a little kid in trouble.

  • IKEA yo! That was the greatest shopping ever. It was like style overload. I think I'll pick up more things when I go to Utah to get my house things that are in storage. They got a store there recently.

    • Spending time with super-dooper cool people like....Amber, Jen, Kim, Tajia & Robin! Thanks for letting me tag along!

A jelly fish (is that even what it is??) washed up on shore and the kids were freaking out squealing. It was pretty funny! Isn't that a weird color?

We were crackin' up at these granny underwear on display at the beach shops....why would you display those? Maybe grandma forgot to take her underwear to the beach....

Tajia, being silly in the car.
